Blitz The Ambassador “Stereotype” Available NOW.

After months and months had gone by, I finally had the chance to catch this dude Blitz’ live show. IMPRESSIVE. Slapped myself in the face for not being able to catch one of the shows earlier. Everything from stage presence to the live band was on point man. Dude has a few more shows in NYC before he starts jet setting all over the world doing shows. If you’re too lame(or busy) to come out to a show, then you’ll need to get a copy of the album which is the digital translation of the live sound(most artists do this the other way around). It also has some dope album artwork (which I had a small hand in creating btw). Actually, you know what? Even if you can make it to a show you need to cop the album. It drops TODAY, so please show some support. You can buy it digitally on iTunes or order a real tangible copy directly from The Embassy.

Birthday Songs

YouTube – Michael Jackson – Lisa It’s Your Birthday (Authentic).

Impulse idea:

I know everyone hates that awkward moment when you know you can’t carry a note but still gotta sing the birthday song to make somebody’s day. It sucks but you know you gotta do it. Anyways, after you sing the original version, and then after somebody who can actually carry a note starts going into the Stevie version with the soul clap, we should just go ahead and add the Michael Jackson version from the Simpsons to the mix (Reserve the 50 Cent version for the club later that night). Just replace “Lisa” with the Birthday Boy/Girl’s name, and repeat the hook until it gets tired (Approx. 4x). I think it’s pretty simple. Maybe i’m asking for too much? Mmmm…probably.

Here’s the recorded version that Michael Sang and here’s the show’s version that they aired on The Simpsons with an MJ replacement singer. Mike’s label wouldn’t let them use his recorded singing voice for the show although he did do all the speaking parts. Must have been a really weird contract. I personally like the beat from the Simpsons version better. Bart was killing it on the trash can conga!

My MAC music meme / Dead Hardrive

I haven’t really posted about this yet but the other day my 500GB Western Digital hard drive crashed. Were talking about 350+ GB of music that is now probably completely GONE. Some might ask why don’t I just do data recovery? I answer them with another question: Can I borrow $1,200 plus a brand new 500 GB drive? had this been the hard drive that I back up all of my current design/music work, it might be worth the $1,200. The drive was mostly filled with albums that I had on CD or downloaded for free online somewhere. I also had a bunch of old back ups of design work from college. I came to the realization that even though I am going to miss alot of the stuff on the drive, most of the files have no real cash value, so until I can slowly come up with $1,200 bucks, I’ll live with the loss. Keeping multiple backups is hard lesson learned here. Life goes on.

Anyways, J. Dakar tagged me to do one of the Music Meme things. It would have come out a lot better had I done it with the music I had on the harddrive, but instead I have to settle for my Mac iTunes library. Dah well.

Most of this stuff is little known Hip-Hop / R&B. i forgot I even had alot of this stuff. Most of it is music that I am NOT supposed to have. How do I get it? Wouldn’t you like to know. Ha. THANKS INTERNET!

It’s pretty self explanatory. go through your iTunes, and change the song title sort to A-Z, and type up which songs come up for each letter with out repeating any artists. Its pretty interesting when you go through. Took me about 10 minutes to do it. You people below need to get to doing the same — your officially TAGGED.

The 100 Mirrors Project.

The guys over at Lost In Tyme; A blog that unearths rare vinyl recordings of all genres, have come up with a great idea to help keep their project going while avoiding unfair terms of service attacks from an unknown user. Rather than recreating the blog over and over again on one account, they are asking the site’s visitors for permission to use their individual blogs to in effect ‘mirror’ their content. I’ve never heard anything like this before on the Internet and I think its pretty interesting. It’s great because the stuff you find on this site is extremely rare and probably impossible to purchase, so its not like they’re screwing some label out of Millions of dollars. They even go as far as to get the consent from the artists when they can.

What we have in mind is this: If we have 100 mirror blogs, nobody would think about deleting anything. We will post the links of the mirror blogs here, so anyone who’s looking for something posted in Lost In Tyme, would easily find it. This way the music posted in LiT will continue to be available. This way we will go on – together.

Obviously, in the wrong hands and with the wrong concept this could easily turn into something negative. I can see tons of Pirater’s using this concept to bootleg Lil Wayne’s long awaited album. Guess we’ll have to deal with that when and if it happens. Until then, peep the full post and enjoy the music.

BINK!

BINK!
You wanna talk about slept on producers? Well this guy takes the cake, the cookie and many other yummy pastries. BUT, Before you hit the play button below, Just look at BINK!’s discog (In particular his work on Jay’s “The Blueprint”). I know you thought half of these joints were done by Kanye or you maybe even accredited Just Blaze (Respect to both). NOPE. Do your research. This guy may not have been getting the most club record spins, but he’s been solidly putting down those songs that make you glad you actually bought that album and listened to more than just the single. He’s quite easily one of the best drum programmers in the game. His drum patterns just have this live, by-hand quality that impossible not to recognize. So take a listen to these samples and let me know what you think. Also, hit him up on Myspace. Some of his newer stuff is there.
