Blackbird: A Browser for black folks.

Blackbird provides African Americans with easy access to advanced features and services, greater visibility and access to hard-to-find African-American online content and a platform for sharing their entire internet experience on the web.

I think this is REALLY stupid. It’s not even offensive to me. It’s just a DUMB idea. Why the hell would anyone want their web browser to force them into a race based information box? Being able to effortlessly browse unfiltered information is what makes the internet – THE INTERNET. I don’t understand how the BET of browsers could do any good for anyone (except for maybe a few advertisers who will have a field day with this type of thing). Luckily its on only available for Windows because i’m not going to get into how bad it looks (YUCK!). I hate that I have to link to this crap but if you want to find out more go here.

Still not sure who to vote for?

Check out: whoshouldyouvotefor.com. All you do is take a survey and check off how important you think a certain issue is in this campaign. Takes like 5 min.

Interestingly enough, when I did the survey, I got 48% Obama and –45% McCain. Actually that isn’t a surprise at all. I wonder who I would end up voting for if they added some of these Independent parties to the equation. I’ve got a feeling both the Donkeys and the Elephants would lose out to some of these independent campaigns — especially, if you strip out the drama and leave the voting to be decided on the issues/policies alone. Too bad the real system sucks so much.

(Excuse the weird image, I am writing this post from my iPhone.)

FFFIIINNNAAALLLYYYY — A Myspace Redesign!

Myspace Redesign

This is soooo long overdue. Looks like Myspace contracted Adaptive Path to redesign one of, if not THE ugliest popular social networking site on the web. What a feat for these guys. They blogged about some of the project challenges (See: Rethinking Myspace, Myspace & Creative path, The Shelf-life of Social Networks) but in the end, it seems as though the redesign turned out to be one big Facebook BITE. According to Valleywag.com, “When Fox Interactive began interviewing Web designers for the job last fall, they told the candidates the main goal was to match rival Facebook feature-for-feature.” See more screenshots

Facebook design improvements…

It looks like Facebook is turning the profiles into a Psuedo Blogging/Aggregating system. Cool idea, but I already have a real blog for that. And my blog is way cooler. Especially because I can change my design whenever I want and there are no Apps/Ads

Google X Feedburner

Looks like Google and Feedburner have decided to join forces. I guess it couldn’t hurt. But I wonder if this merger is causing errors in the Stuff White People Like Feed in my Google Reader. Are anyone else’s subscriptions acting screwy in Google Reader?

Another interesting idea from Upstart Blogger

Ashley over at Upstart Blogger is at again with this rather innovative idea on getting a successful blog up and running in no time. All you have to do is pitch your idea and if he likes(loves) it you’re in! Once you’re in, Ashley awards you a custom blog design and one years professional blog hosting, promotion and consultancy. Pretty awesome if you ask me, as this guy makes quite a bit of money through blogging. More details can be read at his OG Post.

5 words I wish I had a reason to use in everyday, normal conversation.

Nike Air Kanye’s? *UPDATE*

*UPDATE*

Kanye’s been rocking these joints on tour. Pictured here is the Black Gray and Red colorway. 1 Word — SICK. They also look like they have that glow in the dark coating on them which.

Nike Air Kanye’s?

Yes. You heard right. Kanye is working with Nike on a custom sneaker. Kanye wore them during his performance at the Grammy’s. I think they’re looking pretty dope as prototypes especially considering he is actually designing them himself (I hear he was a visual artist before picking up the pen and the MPC). But I know, everybody from Sneaker heads to grandmas are going to be rocking these.
