This dude isn’t just killing’em in Iowa, he’s killing’em online. One of the nicest websites I’ve seen in a while. Not sure who designed it but they did one hell of a job. barackobama.com

Great little store that I just found out about in SoHo. It’s filled with all kinds of cool stuff, from iPod speakers made out of Cardboard, to crushed tee shirts squeezed into a 3in. cube packaging. Sounds random, but you really gotta see this stuff to believe it. Pretty affordable too. Think IKEA meets UNIQLO at THE CONTAINER STORE in Japan. MUJI

I’m featured on this extremely dope photography project. Check out this guy Bill Wadman’s work. He’s brilliant.

CS3 in a Flash.

Adobe CS3
It finally happened! Adobe stepped in and finally fixed up the most loved to hate web authoring program EVER. People come to me all the time with requests for flash stuff, and off the Bat I let them know its a HORRIBLE program and try to convince them on alternative ways of getting it done(which are usually slim to none). Don’t get me wrong, It’s always been powerful as hell, and there’s almost limitless possibilities for creating web applications. But when you just want to sit down and bang out something routine, its a major pain in the A**. MAN. They’ve made so many MAJOR improvements to this program its astonishing. I cant wait to get my hands on it. But I’m broke as usual so we’ll see how long it takes for me to get it.

Check it out HERE.

DC Soul

D.C. SOUND LTD.
I stumbled on this site today who’s soul purpose is to document the Funk, Soul, & R&B record labels of the DC / MD area(B-more is mixed in there a bit too). The site has alot of vintage photography and images of rare vinyl that you can probably only find in DC. Kevin Coombe, who’s the site author and DJ has done a awesome job archiving all of this. I only wish there were a bit more sound bytes, but I’m sure they are on their way. I also wish there were some better shots of the record covers themselves. Kevin Coombe bka: NITEKRAWLER is also spinning this Sat. at APT so check it out if you’re in NY.

Please Baby, Baby, Baby, Baby, PLEASE

Nola Darling & BlackmonEasily One of the best movies I have EVER seen — EVER. The acting isn’t the greatest i’ve seen but it fits so perfectly. I thought Spike was a genius before but now I don’t even know what to call him.

”Inspired and driven by what he saw as Hollywood patronizing black issues (eg The Color Purple) and the desire to see a world he recognized on screen, he got family and friends involved, came up with $175,000 and made this wonderful film. This is seat-of-the-pants, guerilla film-making, and the look of the film reflects that but hides none of its ambition or invention.” – dvdbeaver.com (don’t ask)

Timelss movie. Even if you’re not a huge spike fan. Good luck finding it though.
