The 100 Mirrors Project.

The guys over at Lost In Tyme; A blog that unearths rare vinyl recordings of all genres, have come up with a great idea to help keep their project going while avoiding unfair terms of service attacks from an unknown user. Rather than recreating the blog over and over again on one account, they are asking the site’s visitors for permission to use their individual blogs to in effect ‘mirror’ their content. I’ve never heard anything like this before on the Internet and I think its pretty interesting. It’s great because the stuff you find on this site is extremely rare and probably impossible to purchase, so its not like they’re screwing some label out of Millions of dollars. They even go as far as to get the consent from the artists when they can.

What we have in mind is this: If we have 100 mirror blogs, nobody would think about deleting anything. We will post the links of the mirror blogs here, so anyone who’s looking for something posted in Lost In Tyme, would easily find it. This way the music posted in LiT will continue to be available. This way we will go on – together.

Obviously, in the wrong hands and with the wrong concept this could easily turn into something negative. I can see tons of Pirater’s using this concept to bootleg Lil Wayne’s long awaited album. Guess we’ll have to deal with that when and if it happens. Until then, peep the full post and enjoy the music.
