I know i’m extra late with this but here’s a quick demo of the Wordpress iPhone App. So far so good.

Mixtape is a lightweight, one or two column, widgetized, Wordpress theme designed completely with CSS, sans image graphics. Similar to muxtape.com, Mixtape is ideal for sharing/listening to music online. This theme utilizes a combination of Sandbox — a valid XHTML / CSS selector rich Wordpress environment, Tripoli — a generic CSS standard for HTML rendering and SoundManager 2 — a new Javascript API that utilizes Flash audio capabilities.

Mixtape was developed for WordPress 2.5+, but it should also work in 2.3.+. It has been tested mostly in Safari and Firefox but it should also maintain its look in IE 6 and IE 7 outside of a few font discrepancies. It has basic gravatar support and comes with a sample Child Theme that uses a different color scheme. This marks my first stab at developing a theme for Wordpress so please let me know of any bugs you may find in the comments.

I can’t help but be extremely excited about this. Looks like you can do just about everything that you can do in the browser based version. And on top of that, it’s FREE! All of these iPhone Apps have got to be making Blackberry users a bit jealous. Read about it and see a video of the App in action here.

Custom Category/Post Template Plugin.

This is probably the single most valuable plugin to date (exaggeration?). It basically checks to see if a post in a certain category, and then assigns that post a separate custom template. Genius. And it doesn’t stop there. It also, allows you to assign a custom template to any post ID which means you can make one specific page look completely different than all of the others. Extremely powerful plugin. I found this over at wpelements.com in an old feed article. The plugin was created by Ryan Boren way back in 2005 and it is still very much effective today.
